Major update of the portpolio in progress The latest Studio20E course was held in Malvern,Worcester. With some new and some revisiting faces (Always nice to see returning faces) The first day out (after some quick revision) was on the Malvern Hills (Bluebell shoot) Unfortunatly it was in the middle of the pre Easter hotspell and there was a lot of heat haze making landscape shots a none runner. All students managed some great shots of the bluebells that abound on the hills. Second day covered architecture with a visit to Witley Court ( recommended ) Day three was on The Severn Valley steam railway where students managed period (Victorian) type railway shots and some even got into the floorplate (Drivers cab) of one of the working trains. Fourth day started with a introduction to software Adobe Elements and for some Lightroom. This was followed by a “Free afternoon” where students could venture off with their cameras. A number of students came with the instructors to a afternoon along side the River Avon at Tewksbury and later into the black and white 15th Centry Alms houses and the Abbey. The last day (Friday) was course dispersal.A slide show of the best images taken and one to one progress chats with instructors. I would like to thank all the students for their enthusiasm which made for the course being very enjoyable by all.
Course 1 of 2010 Simon Green came up from Penzance to give a talk to Beacon Camera Club on Lightroom. The next day we had planned to visit Snowdon area and get some low flying MOD plane shots.(http://lowfly.net/) Weather was great,Blue skys and fluffy white clouds—-how ever as with most planned days something had to go wrong. This time it was a volcano erupting in iceland and a total air embargo.(just our luck) Anyway ,we went anyway as a recce for next time. We also popped down to Borth to get some seascape shots. A long and memorable day—thanks Simon. Well Lots of snow with a great sumset. Not seen the Malvern Hills covered like this since i was a child. I managed to get up on the British Camp for an hour on the day after the fall and thenext day the Wyche Cutting in late afternoon. The first visit was great, virgin snow everywhere, the second looked like a heard of elephants had come through. (Every school in the county was closed and all kids headed straight to the hills! ) Saying that the sunset made a well worthy visit. There`s also a pano uploaded from the Old Hills ,Nr Callow end ,a spot i`ve uploaded before fron an Autumn shoot.I liked the differance. working on fix for gallery displaying vertically.also title too far to left on home page in IE Two new Folders added. Urban Black and White Bank Holiday Monday in Penzance and its grey and flat. Waiting—for the light [SinglePic not found]
